Check Me Out!

nullI was interviewed for my local paper recently and the story just ran today. Check it out! Here is the pic that ran with the story. This is a woman that I visit when I go to the nursing homes every Friday for communion services as part of my Legion of Mary work. Her name is Dorothy Holterman, she’s 92 and a RIOT! She’s better known as “Grandma” from Grandma’s Cool and Zesty Dressing, an excellent dressing for cole slaw! Read the story of how it started here. Be sure and check out their website and order some for yourself!

A correction from the article: The author wrongly stated that I started Path to Holiness – she must have misunderstood. I am really just filling space on there while my Dad (the real founder) is too busy to post on a regular (or even semi-regular) basis. He did post today though!

  1. Whoa! Is that article in a mainstream paper? Because if it is, it’s a sign of the coming apocolypse! The MSM showcasing a prolifer as articulate, educated, and having a lot of facts at hand? And not only that, but showing a photo of her — a lovely young woman — visiting an elderly woman in a nursing home?

    Gotta be a Catholic newspaper!

  2. The previous owner of the newspaper was Catholic, but did not do a lot with the content of the newspaper. But, yes this was in our local secular newspaper as hard as that is to believe. However, the fact that roughly 30% of our area is Catholic and probably more than that are pro-life, most likely has a lot to do with their friendliness toward Catholics and pro-lifers. The newspaper would probably suffer serious backlash if they did a pro-life/Catholic hit piece. If you want to really have your mind blown, check out this article on Eucharistic adoration (which I was also interviewed for) that ran in the same newspaper in 2006, written by the same author (who, btw, isn’t Catholic): Adoration a priority for St. Joseph parishioners

    Peace,

  3. I about choked on my tea when I read the article, “Adoration a priority for St. Joseph parishioners.” I just can’t believe that both of these articles were in the Tribune!! What a breath of fresh air…and you are a part of that!
