Life with a disability is NOT without value, hope, meaning or purpose. You must watch this film! A few sites that I have seen link to this say it’s only a one day preview – so hurry up! You will not be disappointed.

“The greater the struggle, the more glorious the triumph.”

Film information:

At the height of the Great Depression, the showman of a renowned circus leads his troupe through the devastated American landscape, lifting the spirits of audiences along the way. During their travels they discover a man without limbs at a carnival sideshow, but after an intriguing encounter with the showman he becomes driven to hope against everything he has ever believed. Starring Eduardo Verástegui (Bella), Doug Jones (Pan’s Labyrinth, Fantastic Four) and featuring the debut performance of Nick Vujicic.

Find out more about the man behind the film’s main character, Nick Vujicic, at Life Without Limbs.

**Update: I just went to the website I linked to above and it is still playing the movie, so I don’t think it was a one day only thing.

  1. Wasn’t that a wonderful film? It was so unexpected, I could hardly bear to watch the side show in the beginning, they are so cruel. Kind of like how some in the world treat my daughter with Down syndrome. But the ending was worth it.
Eduardo Verastegui visited my daughter’s Catholic girls camp this August and recommended the film, he’s such a holy man, a real pro-life activist.

  2. Wonderful film!!! More films like these, which have hope, love and Pro-Life need to be made! We need to see the inside of people and not on what we look like on the outside, this film inspires and educates us. I give it a 100%!!!!

  3. So glad you enjoyed “The Butterfly Circus”. It will be up for over a year to be enjoyed at http://www.thedoorpost.com.

  4. This was a wonderful film. Rebekah, you did a marvelous job writing and producing this gem. This is truly one of the most inspiring films I have seen in a long time.

  5. Hi Chelsea, I’m a lurker, been following the blog for awhile and always enjoy the refreshing posts on pro-life issues, disability, ToB and everything in between. Thanks for posting this incredible movie! It speaks so deeply about overcoming whatever it is that holds us back to live fully as human beings. While the movie isn’t explicitly Christian I think it’s pretty obvious that the deep faith of the two main actors influence their performances! Loved it 🙂

  6. I’ve kind of committed to go see BC at a special screening in Hollywood. But I’m sort hoping it’s not going to make me feel scared or overly hurt for helpless child characters in the film. I’m kind of sensitive to child cruelty in the media. I think films are very important justice tools, but I’m wondering if it’s going to jar my soul. Anyway, I’m going to take the chance and go see it…

  7. This film was profound, and so was the music. I am glad I went and I hope to share it with others soon.
