Despite the big name movies that were released last weekend, Bella remained in the top 20 grossing movies, bringing in another $1,006,000 over the weekend and $3,644 per theater. This is great news for Bella and for Metanoia Films. It’s also good news for all of us who enjoy having decent movies to see in the theater. It is opening up in another 200 theaters this weekend and, depending on a fourth successful week, could see an even wider release for Thanksgiving.
Find a theater near you. I am still trying to get it picked up in my area. There is a lot of support for it here, but it all depends on the theater’s willingness to carry it. Wish us luck!

Bear in mind that the film seems to be an “indie” and most multiplexes only show mainstream films. That’s probably why BELLA will appear in the local arthouse (if you have one, which apparently you do not), but not your local Megascreen 12.
It’s actually playing in quite a few big theaters. I saw it at the Galleria in St. Louis, and it is on a couple of other 14, 16, and even 20+ screen theaters theaters there. The one I’m trying to get it into is a very small (2 screen) family owned theater in my hometown. There is a more artsy theater in Columbia (30 min from here) which plays more indie films among other things. That would be plan B for me, though, judging by the theaters it’s in in STL and KC, there is no reason it can’t be shown in one of our major theaters here. But, again, it all depends on the theater’s willingness to carry it.
