Obama 7/17/07: “Reproductive care is essential care…It is at the center and the heart of the (health care) plan that I’ve proposed.”

Lately the President and his administration have been fairly quiet about the whole ‘abortion in health care reform’ debate. But in his now infamous speech to Planned Parenthood in 2007, then candidate Obama, was a little more candid. Remember, for Obama:

“‘Reproductive health’ includes access to abortion.”
~Secretary of State Hillary Clinton

Obama’s wording here is significant because, while the word “abortion” may not appear in either of the health care bills, the term “essential benefit” is and will likely be interpreted by the courts to mandate abortion coverage as illustrated by past administrative and legal interpretation. MRL President Pam Fichter explains this in her response to a statement by Sen. Claire McCaskill last week. This is why the only way to ensure that abortions will not be covered under the federal health care reform is if specific language is written into the bill that excludes taxpayer abortion as a benefit. 1. Even if ObamaCare pays for abortions, you will not be paying for it with your taxes. On the countrary, you will ENJOY A TAX-CUT because of the abortions.

If we don’t fund abortions, we’ll end up funding childbirth-care, which is ELEVEN times more expensive.

You won’t be paying the abortion-docs. The abortion-docs’ work will fund a tax-cut for you. If you don’t WANT your tax cut, give it away.

How much EXTRA are you willing to pay the tax man in order to fund a right-to-lifist policy? A thousand dollars each year? Ten thousand? Fifty thousand?

  2. Well put, OperationCounterstrike! Another widely overlooked major strain on our tax system is all the welfare recipients and single mothers. We should expand abortion rights or euthanasia rights to eliminate the lowest income bracket, and pass the savings onto the taxpayer! Another of the biggest expenditures of taxpayer money is the U.S. prison system, but if we were to increase the use and speed of the death penalty to include the vast majority of criminals, we could further save taxpayer money. Historians don’t like to touch it, but the holocaust and slavery were great for stimulating the economy and sending money back to the average joe. The former because the jewish population held the majority of wealth, and when they were cleansed, the wealth was returned to the German people. The latter because the slaves were even cheaper then than illegal immigrant workers are for us today, because they received no salary and could be killed when they grew too old to work. I think expansion of abortion rights is a great way to stimulate the economy, and eliminate expensive, snot-nosed children. Also, imagine not having to buy so many birthday gifts! Why should a little stupid thing like humanity stand in the way of progress? I say it shouldn’t!
