Besides the fact that it’s just plain immoral there are actually plenty of other practical reasons for opposing hormonal contraceptives, especially if you consider yourself an environmentalist. How many self-professed “greenies”, I wonder, (especially those who condemn the use of hormones in livestock and other food products) actually take their “green” practices into the bedroom? “Green sex” – it’s better for the environment and your body as well.

Well, my comment was going to be way longer, but as a young lady of high intellect, I figured you could handle this. I can hear someone make the argument, “Well, even though the pill is harmful to the environment, if we just let people have all the kids they want, all those extra people on the planet would be even more harmful to the environment.”
How would you respond to that?
Bob – Knowing that is a desired goal for many environmentalists, I was actually going to mention that in my post, just didn’t feel like it. The Population Research Institute has done an excellent job of debunking the overpopulation myth. It’s an outdated argument that doesn’t have much – if any – scientific fact to back it up. Unfortunately, its an ideology that many are not willing to listen to reason on.
