Do You Know How the Pill Works?

It’s probably not a stretch to say that most people in our pill crazy society don’t know exactly how any one of their prescription drugs work. Here is a short version of the documentary 28 Days on the Pill highlighting how many people are uninformed about how hormonal contraceptives work:

Not only does the pill not totally prevent pregnancy, but it can have some harmful, even deadly, side-effects on the woman as well, including an increased risk of breast cancer.

  1. I’m sorry that I’m off-topic, but I just want to point out that Randall Terry is off his rocker, and that this kind of behaviour undermines our cause. I don’t support Kagan, but this is completely inappropriate:

    “Protesters hang Graham in effigy
Protest tactic can turn people away from a cause, prompt legal action.

The Capitol Police are fairly jaded about protests, but they get a bit more careful when it comes to pretending to hang a member of Congress.

As anti-abortion protesters gathered outside the Senate Thursday, a dozen police officers stood poised to make arrests if the activists went too far.

Pasting a photograph of Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) onto a human-looking figure and putting a noose around its neck was OK, police told protesters. But beating it with a stick they had brought with them was not.

For Randall Terry, the longtime anti-abortion activist who led the protest, the goal was to go as far as he possibly could…”

  2. Bob – I feel the exact same way! He did something similar to Pelosi and Reid around Halloween last year – teaching people how to make cardboard cutouts of them burning in hell with little devils dancing around them. I try not publicly criticize other pro-lifers as I know their heart is in the right place and the last thing we need is to start having public division among pro-lifers. But I’ve seen things lately that other pro-lifers have done that I just cannot condone. One of them being protesting at Jimmy Kimmel’s home and disrupting his television show because they were treated unfairly by some of his film crew. I just can’t see how that is helping anyone, especially the unborn. It doesn’t seem to be following the example of Christ who told us to “shake the dust” off our feet when we are not welcomed and the Apostles who rejoiced “that they had been found worthy to suffer dishonor for the sake of the name.”
