More on Ron Paul and Life

Ron PaulRepublican presidential candidate Ron Paul has been pretty popular on this blog. I did one post last month on his pro-life position and was impressed with the positive feedback I got from it – more than anything I’ve done on another candidate, including Brownback. So I thought those readers would appreciate this video of Paul speaking at this years National Right to Life Convention in Kansas City (I am kicking myself for not going since it was only about 3 hours from my house, but I just never made the time). Anyway, it’s a great vid. As a defender of all liberties, Paul recognizes that unless the issue of life is resolved, liberty doesn’t mean a whole lot – life comes first, libery comes afterward. As a man who has helped deliver more than 4,000 babies, he may be the most qualified candidate to talk about the great miracle of life.

He has apparently written a book, Challenge to Liberty, Coming to Grips With the Abortion Issue. It’s unavailable at amazon right now and I can’t seem to find it anywhere. I would love to know how to get ahold of it if anyone knows how. I really enjoyed Reagan’s Abortion and the Conscience of a Nation, check it out if you haven’t already.

  1. Ron Paul may be good on the pro-life issue but on so many others he is a disaster. His views on the war would leave this country vulnerable to terrorists and put a lot of human life in jeopardy.

  2. I am not thrilled about any of the Republican candidates so far, and I don’t really know who to throw my weight behind (though I have been wishing that Brownback would get a little better). But I do know this, of all the issues on the table, none is more important than the fundamental right of every human being to have life. This country has been vulnerable from the moment it took that right away from the most innocent and defenseless of all human life, and it will not be safe until that right is restored.

Human life is already in jeopardy here. I do believe that we have an obligation to defend and protect ourselves from threats, but our real vulnerability comes from within and that must be our priority.

Of course Ron Paul is not our only pro-life candidate, but he seems to grasp the issue better than most sometimes. And, as far as I’m concerned, any one of them are better than Giuliani.

  3. Paul is indeed a true statesman and our most conservative allie for protection of life and liberty for all people. I would like to find a copy of this book as well.

Dee, you may do well to search out Dr. Pauls required reading list that he sent to Rudy Giuliani after Rudy attacked him for stating that terrorists (clearly murderous and wrong) are attacking us for a reason that has been clearly documented by other americans and the “fatwa” of the terrorists themselves because we have intervened in this region of the world for our financial interests and have supported the State of Israel for years (even though that State has conducted numerous attrocious acts against fellow humans because of their race). Don’t believe for a minute that our interference in a foreign country will be good for our security at home…in fact quite the opposite has been proven to be true. This is quite obvious to be the consequence of our military actions indirectly resulting in upwards of 100,000 civilian deaths…consider if you will Pauls wise contention to consider how you would react to a foreign army coming to the U.S. for an armed occupation? (the golden rule)
